OUR PHILOSOPHY OF CARE

“We believe that all our service users, whatever their health or ability, should as far as possible enjoy an independent, active and dignified life, with due respect for their privacy.

To achieve this, it is essential to provide an environment which is clean, warm and safe, where the familiar belongings abound; and with the freedom of choice to live their life as they wish, within the limits of their particular circumstances exists.

We believe that, in an atmosphere of trust, understanding and friendliness, where physical and mental support exists but where the reasonable risks of life are not excluded, the service users will be able to achieve their own maximum potential quality of life. By encouraging visits from relatives and friends, fostering harmonious relationships with local community and providing stimuli of many kinds, the service users physical and intellectual needs will be met.

We believe that each service user should be personally involved in the everyday matters of life, reaching mutually agreed decisions with professional staff regarding their own welfare. Those who are too frail, disabled or otherwise vulnerable and unable to make decisions will depend upon the professions with agreement of relatives, to make decisions for them.

We aim to ensure the existence of a happy, stimulating and friendly community within the nursing home.”
